 FAQs

  • Our main study day is Wednesday at our site at Woodbury Avenue, in Bournemouth. We have three 10 week terms across the year.

Wessex Gospel Partnership also runs a Monday evening class which can be studied in conjunction with SfD.

Interns are expected to serve in a local church or ministry for an additional 2-3 days per week. However, many sign up for the study programme without being interns.

  • Yes! Even if you are not an intern you should be actively involved in a church. To be on the course we would want to talk to your church leader to see that this is appropriate for you.

Belonging to a local church and serving there is a first step in discipleship. You will be encouraged to apply what you are learning in a place of fellowship where you already belong.

  • Yes! You would still want to belong to a local church and seek to serve there but the Wednesday study day can be enriching for personal growth and development.

  • SfD teaches mainstream evangelical theology. Lansdowne Church is a member of the F.I.E.C. and the teaching will reflect our doctrinal basis.

We draw upon the rich tradition of evangelical theology, including the work of F. F. Bruce and W. E. Vine, along with modern scholars. We also draw on historical theology from the Reformation and earlier but our theological teaching is focused on the Bible as our core textbook.

Evangelical theology emphasises the authority and trustworthiness of the Bible as the Word of God. In secondary areas, where there is difference of opinion among evangelicals, we encourage discussion and exchange of ideas.

  • This single box contains a key set of textbooks on biblical theology, systematic theology and applied theology. It is designed for self-study or remote work.

It could be used by hubs at a distance who wish to follow the same material. We are currently developing supplementary videos and handouts that can be used either for personal study or in a group. This content should be ready for September 2025.

  • The Wednesday teaching course is in person at our Bournemouth location. However, we are currently developing online resources to allow remote access.

Take a look at our Bible College in a Box, and come back to find out more about the video content and other material to help you in your study.

  • The SfD one year study programme costs £600.

A Lansdowne internship costs £1500. This includes the one year study programme. There may be opportunity to apply for assistance with fees. Applications to the Lansdowne internship are made directly to Lansdowne Church.

The Bible College in a Box is £49.99 not including shipping and provides the opportunity to register for additional video content from September 2025.
